What Parents are Saying

Kiddy Kalma Yoga

Today’s modern world can be a busy and overwhelming place for young people. With the stress and over-stimulation that can come along with school, exams, gaming, and social media and so on, children can find it hard to relax and take their mind off all the distractions.

Kiddy Kalma Yoga classes help children to develop their ability to self-soothe and 'kalm' themselves amidst the chaos. Fusing elements of Yoga, mindfulness, music, drama, storytelling, and arts & crafts, the classes are always focused on providing kids with a safe space to play, have fun, relax, get moving, and get mindful.

At Kiddy Kalma Yoga, we want to help as many children as possible develop their ability to 'kalm' themselves as they go through life. We truly believe that, with a basic understanding of the practices of Yoga, children will find that, as they grow, they already have the tools they need to help cope with stress, anxiety, sleep-disorders (and more!).

The Benefits of Yoga

The benefits of Yoga, meditation, and mindfulness are countless and fast becoming more widely recognised for having a lasting impact on both physical and mental health. While the physical poses (Asanas) help to strengthen muscles, improve flexibility, balance, and co-ordination, the deep breathing (Pranayama) and relaxation techniques can help to develop focus, concentration, memory, positive outlook, and energy levels. And Yoga does all this while also encouraging the values of being a peaceful, helpful individual with a respect for all the world's people.

But the real beauty is this: your child will, of course, have fun, exercise, make new friends, and learn new songs and games and Yoga poses. And then, one day when they are feeling overwhelmed at a party or at school or elsewhere, you might just catch them using the little tricks they’ve learnt in class and having a quiet moment to meditate or breathe…

Find your happy...

“Mindfulness helps you go home to the present. And every time you go there and recognize a condition of happiness that you have, happiness comes.”

Thich Nhat Hanh

"If every 8 year old in the world is taught meditation, we will eliminate violence from the world within one generation."

The Dalai Lama
